Accessible Parking: ParkRaum-Management PRM Welcomes Para-Swimmer Josia Topf as Brand Ambassador

July 4, 2025

Contactless, barrier-free and barrier-free parking is not only an important issue in terms of convenience and innovation - for many people it is a fundamental prerequisite for being able to be mobile at all. Together with world-class Paralympic swimmer Josia Topf, ParkRaum-Management PRM GmbH from Erlangen wants to raise awareness of this important issue and has recruited the gold medal winner as a brand ambassador. The 22-year-old swimmer from Erlangen has TAR syndrome and was born with very short arms and stiff limbs, different long legs born into the world. Klaus Gumpp, Managing Director of PRM: "Josia is the best example of how performance is not a question of physical ability. His story also shows how modern and innovative technologies help to make life easier for all of us and people with physical disabilities in particular."

Gold, silver, bronze - Josia Topf, who was taught to swim by his father at the age of six, won a whole set of medals at the 2024 Paralympics in Paris. The likeable swimmer shows what is possible with enthusiasm, hard work and unbridled determination. Josia Topf on the collaboration with PRM: "I am very happy to be working with an innovative company like PRM from my home country - because although I have a car, I often lack the opportunity to actually use it. PRM's contactless, barrier-free parking gives me access to spaces that I was previously denied. For many, this is convenient - for me, it means real participation and new mobility. The fact that PRM was a pioneer here years ago shows how innovative the company is and how important such solutions are."

Free-flow parking - simple and safe

The core of PRM's barrier-free concept is free-flow parking. License plate recognition by cameras makes the parking process very simple without stops, barriers and waiting times at the entrance and exit. In addition to the latest generation of easy-to-use pay stations, practical online payment systems are also available. Real-time occupancy analysis thanks to floor sensors and a functioning signage system round off the barrier-free parking experience.

Genuine partnerships in top-class sport

By working together, PRM and Josia Topf want to further raise awareness of inclusion and mobility and encourage people to be active and pursue their goals despite limitations. This is not PRM's first partnership in the world of top-class sport. The company has been working with Bundesliga referee Deniz Aytekin for some time now and has launched the "Fair parking" goodwill and service promise with him. Klaus Gumpp: "Top-class sport and PRM simply go together because we are driven by the desire to constantly improve and work passionately towards this every day."
